Make Money started a thread in the religion forum in which he will be posting a new Christmas song every day. Let's have a thread in here that does the same, for those who avoid the religion forums.

No discussion (ie arguments) about religion and posting of pictures is allowed!

I know Christmas is a Christian holiday but not everyone who celebrates Christmas is a Christian. It is my favorite holiday even though I am not religious at all. Like it or not, it is part of our Western culture. I went to church as a child and my favorite part was the music.

Make Money posted O Holy Night so I'll post another of my favorite Christmas carols.

I have always liked Silent Night. It was put together in Austria and came to England with Albert when he married Queen Victoria. He also started the Christmas tree tradition and the giving of wrapped Christmas presents.

In the USA migrants from Austria, Germany and Italy brought their Christmas traditions to the new country. Among them was the ginger bread man, the Christmas tree and wrapped Christmas presents.

Silent Night was translated from the German into English. On the Western Front on Christmas Day 1914 the Germans sang Silent Night in their language and British soldiers joined in with the English version. I like the story. I also like the carol.

I don't think so. But, at least the war is where it should have been for the past 8 years. Canada is set to withdraw in 2011 and Obama says the US will too.
