So, I've had a lot going on in my life lately and haven't spent as much time here as usual. When I checked my earnings from November on Adsense, I was stunned. Not only did I reach a personal overal best of over $1000, but my HubPages portion composed over $900 of that. I'm extatic!
I'm not sure if that had anything to do with participating in the NovHubChallenge or not, but it is sweet either way... Even though I didn't complete the challenge due to school and personal issues; I got pretty close.
Very well done Whitney, for whatever reason. $1000 in adsense earnings is a great achievement. With 666 hubs, I doubt 30 Hub Challenge hubs made a lot of difference. But wow, $1000 just from adsense, very fantastic. And you're "just a kid", still in college. You work very hard between your school, research, and hundreds of hubs. One of the best work ethics I've seen in a long time anywhere.
Thanks.. I'm not sure if my 25ish hubs from NovHubChallenge had anything to do with it, but I wouldn't discount it. I'm usually around $800+ a month in HubPage Adsense alone, but to not have logged in my Adsense account since Nov 17th, to find I earned over 1K was nice.
I haven't checked Amazon or Ebay yet, but I assume it's probably average.
Oh, and I'm definitely a busy person. Ha... Trying my best to do what I can now to help in the future. I want nice things in life, and I know what I have to do to get them... Work... Although, a stay at home wife and mom would be lovely; I just don't see that happening for me right now.
At that rate, it won't be long and you can just pay cash for it. I'm really pleased for you.
This is more for the other newbies reading this than it is for someone who has more than double my hubs....lol, but I totally saw a difference in my earnings once I started doing the HubChallenges. They are a fantastic practice excercise that helps you improve your brainstorming ability when thinking up new topics to write about, your ability to research keywords, your ease in writing skills and finding your voice, and it helps you find out what the viewing public responds best to.
I bet every one of us has a hub that we published that we had no idea it would take off like it did. Then I bet we all have one that we thought would skyrocket and has only managed to get a couple dozen views from a few loyal fans. The more hubs you do the more you start to figure a few things out based on your own style.
Again, congrats Whitney...we all aspire to be like you.
Fantastic accomplishment Whitney. I wondered what happend to you at the end of the challenge, I was certain you would finish when I did, we seemed to be on the same pace. Anyway, Merry Christmas and happy SUV hunting.
livewithrichard, I got busy in so many other areas of my live. Plus a little relationship glitch that severely stressed me out on top of it all... I just wasn't able to finish that one. Got close though. I was sure I was going to be able to do it, but it's hard to work with excess stress on your back. I've finally been able to log in and start working. I hate to say it, but I wasn't even answering comments; deleted most bc I had over 100 at one point, and didn't have the strength or nerve to read them all. Skimmed them though, and answered some, left some, but deleted most. :-/
Well I'm sure that whatever is stressing you, you'll work it out soon. I see how hard you work here and I can remember this time of year in college with finals and goodbye's to friends, but the bright side is, there is only a few weeks to the new year and fresh starts. Take a break until you get your head on right, we'll keep the light on here
Congratulations on that very rewarding milestone (yay--1,000 bucks!) and as you suggest in your quote above, I am sure your participation in the 30 hub challenge is what helped you reach that hefty figure.
I have noticed that when I put up a lot of content on hubpages in a relatively short amount of time, traffic and income increase. It makes sense, too, when you think about it.
Good for you! I can only hope to make that much money. I take it you made that money off from all of your hubs combined?
Do you belong to other affiliates as well? making money on those? If so, how are you doing in those areas? I'm hoping well.
I have had various short stories out there that I was giving away for free. Total at one site over 3,000 fans, and over 10,000 at another website. Those were both at geocities which sadly no longer exists.
I can only imagine the money I could have made, if I could have brought all of those fans to hub pages.
But, knowing all those people were enjoying my work, was very inspiring. Too bad that Yahoo took away something that so many people loved.
I checked my adsense account today not expecting to see anything other than: Earnings £0.00, and low and behold there it was, my first adsense click. I now have the grand total of £0.07 pence which is...
I have to share my small success story with everyone. It’s not huge compared to what other hubbers make here, but hey I have reached my second payout in just 4 months this time. It is less than 1/3rd of the time...
