No, I haven't yet made my AdSense payout (though I'm getting there), but I've had a really good Amazon month, so between the two of them, I've finally reached triple digits in sales!
It's not enough to live on -- yet -- but for me, $100 is a big milestone, especially since I've earned more than half of it in the last month. It means that my hard work is paying off, people are reading my Hubs and most importantly, I'm beginning to believe that I can actually make it as a freelance writer. And $100 can go pretty far: it's the cost of a nice dinner for two, a one-night stay at a moderate hotel, a nice outfit or even a plane ticket, if you get a good deal. When I think of it in those terms, it makes me very happy!
So for those of you who are still fairly new like me, don't give up. It takes a LOT of work and patience, and learning about keywords and SEO, but it is possible to earn on here if you're willing to put in the time.
Good Job. I'm only at about $45 but for the last few months I havn't wrote any hubs or been online much because I didn't have internet access, although tonight I found a wireless connection. I hope it lasts.
Nelle you hit the bulls eye there! My .68 cents or hearing NaomiR got to $100 its really encouraging to know that the time spent here is really worth it! Naomi, thanks for sharing your success! Its awesome to hear you made that first financial mile stone and I hope you continue to earn more and build up your pages! You are almost certainly going to give hope to the newer members here that they can experience success too . I hope to join you in the winners circle soon! BTW what do you think was the key to your success? I always love to hear what works for people even if I have heard it before, keeps me motivated
I think the key to my success is experimenting with SEO and keywords ... but what's really worked for me is writing detailed and (I hope) interesting pieces about things I know. I've had surprising successes on Hubs that would seem to be non-commercial, but managed to somehow draw an audience. And then I've had little success on Hubs that use high-paying keywords and topics. So it's been about finding what works for me.
I just checked yesterday's ebay numbers and found that I had my first $100 day. October 2009 was my first serious attempt at making ebay money and I was thrilled to make about $90 off of my 30 hubs that month. Prior to...
After almost two years I've made my first 100. I'm excited because for about a year i didn't publish any hubs. Then again I think about how much more I would have had if I would have kept a steady pace of hub...
