I've installed the Google toolbar to get page rankings, but now when I try to do SEO research most of the top dozen results are local to my area (Vancouver, Canada). I need global results, not local. How can I get global results without uninstalling Google toolbar?
If you click on the spanner icon on the google toolbar and select options you can adjust your search settings.
Make sure you are logged out of Google.
If so, and you are still getting local results, there is a firefox browser plugin that will allow you to search as though you are in a different part of the world. There is a link to download within this blog post:

wow i didn't know you could do that with the Google toolbar. 'k, i'm going to get it.
This gives you anonymous google browsing, so it is entirely free of all your Google personalizations.
