i just got a traffic from blogcatlog.com and began to wonder how it happened as never promoted my hub in that site.
can anybody give an explanation?
You get traffic from a lot of places that you won't recognize. That's when you just smile and be grateful.
could it be that hubpage staff are doing some promotion on our behalf?
No, chinweike. People find your hub and tell other people or other people mention it in an email to someone. Some people put links to things they want people to see. You never know how it gets around. It just does. I've had my hubs linked on forums where someone is trying to make a point to someone and they will put a link there to my hub. Anyone who clicks on that link will show coming from that forum. It all started with someone. Don't ever worry about the how's. Just be grateful it's there. That's what the world wide web is all about.
Running a search on that particular site shows that it has lots of information and links regarding HubPages.

Many people writing different things. But I and I'm sure that many other people would like to know the potential of hubpages. Thanks for answers.

That's overall for all my hubs. That number has been rising and seems to me a sign of healthy hubbing at this point. The rest is about equally split between coming internally from HP and from my external links via social media and blogs. What do the veterans around here think about these numbers?

I started using this blogging link to send my own hubs out of the hub nest. Soon, as I was going to make comments for my friends list I ended up reading other good hubs and decided to share theirs on my blogs too. Then the blog idea started evolving to help promote more reads and...

I am not all that familiar with the ends and outs of blogging. My understanding is that you can blog about anything- from handy parenting tips to telling people about how you slipped on some ice and landed on your booty in front of a million people. (I don't know why you would write about that, but...
