Well, I've published 7 hubs now. I've been trying to figure out what my most effective way of writing is so I'm asking you to take a look at my hubs and give me your opinion of them.

My first 4 hubs were winging it. I just clicked "start a new hub" and went at it. My 5th hub was written a bit differently. I had tabs of research open while I wrote it. And my last 2 hubs were written on WordPad before I published them. I took my time on them and thoroughly researched as I wrote.

So, which of my ways of writing is most effective?

my recommendations relate more to formatting-maybe breaking the content into sections with two paragraphs in one and a heading at the top. do you use Amazon? maybe say, some ads for handbags in your purse hub.

anyway i found your hubs unique and interesting.

Actually, I just write for fun. I don't write to make any extra money. The ads are completely randomized.

Formatting isn't exactly my strong point, but I'll definitely work on it. Thanks! smile

oh, heh. i assumed incorrectly re: the money. sorry about that. i started getting better at formatting after i did my first hub challenge, although even then i want to try other formatting tricks i see other hubbers do to make their hubs look stunning. anyway have fun, so far so good smile

      Alessia, two points.

One, it's a bit unreasonable to ask Hubbers to read all seven Hubs.  The point of this thread is to post a link to one or two Hubs, not seven!

Two, I noticed that you've bumped a thread a couple of times, when you haven't had an instant answer.  Please remember that many of us are on different time zones, and even those who are on the same time are also busy doing other things - you're asking people to do you a favour, so to get impatient when people don't jump to respond appears rude, even if you don't mean it to be.

Okay, Marisa, but I have a few points of my own to make.

Point One: I bumped when my thread was no longer on the first page and the forum was very active. To me, this does not seem unreasonable.

Point Two: I feel that I need help with all of my hubs and to spam the forum with 7 new threads would just be me self-promoting.

Point Three: I am asking a favor, which means if you don't want to help, you can just move your sorry behind to the next thread.

        K? Thanks.

Can you imagine what would happen if everyone did that? People who are willing to help in the Makeover thread come here on purpose - so people will still notice you.

That's either being greedy or being lazy.  If other Hubbers help you with one or two Hubs, you'll get pointers which you can apply to all of them.  Don't expect to be spoon-fed.

Well, I have to admit my behind is looking pretty sorry these days.  Just wait till you get to your fifties, you'll know what I mean.

Hey Alessia, you could have made this easier?

You could post one Hub link of one style and one link for a different style?

So, please do give an example.

      Thank you. smile

Just my opinion here, but your best hubs are the ones about Elizabeth Bathory and Paranormal Activity.

I haven't read your hubs yet, but surely, or intuitively at least, taking your time, doing your research, then reading and editing before publishing has to be better than just winging it!
