There was a major power outage at our primary data center around noon pacific time today. It affected the entire facility, not just HubPages. We are working on getting the site back up and operating normally, but I'd advise against using the hub editor or composing any long comments or forum posts for the next several hours at least. Hi, Oh thank goodness for that! my computer has been playing up big time and I thought I had been cut of from everything!! Oh panic, hear my beating breast!!! I was just about to throw my computer out of the window....ha ha
Thanks for the update Paul. Ignore my email. I wasn't online earlier today and when I did try to enter Hubpages I couldn't. I could not even access the site or hubs from my browser. Now I understand why.
It WAS a nice touch. With good advice here in the Forums, which I naturally ignored. Must have been rooting around in the hub editor after the worst of it, though--at least tonight's hub seems to have published okay, as did several not-so-short commets.
Well that probably means I better wait till things are fixed before publishing new hubs ready and waiting. I tried a few hours ago and it all went besirk. Now there hangs an unpublished undated hub in my stats which I can't even delete.
For the most part everything should be back to normal. If you were in the process of editing something right around when the power was cut, some data from those edits may have been lost. If you notice anything unusual please let us know, so that we can investigate. There may still be some minor lingering problems related to data inconsistency that could affect individual pages on the site. Thanks!
