I would like to make a slide show in Mpeg or AVI or flash format (not to post on hubages, but elsewhere) whisch displays a series of images and/or text, with some audio in the background. Can anyone recommend some easy to use software (preserably free)?
Thanks in advance to all my fellow hubbers.
very best w/o a doubt is Picassa - plus a one touch upload to youtube
Swish can be used for the slideshow and is cheaper than flash. I'm not sure but it exports in avi not mpeg. For mpeg export you can use Sony vegas software.
Why don't you just use PowerPoint? That's what its made for.
As for free, you can download Open Office and use the Impress component. I have never done a presentation in Impress, but it looks similar to PowerPoint.
You can download it here for free:
The easiest programs to use would be Microsoft PowerPoint or Windows Movie Maker.

The slide show view could be a more powerful tool for the author if both the capsule subtitle and the caption area were visible during the slide show.As it is now, the slide show view for a photo / pic shows only the...

They shouldn't be. I just published a Hub where I selected "Don't display this capsule", because I created the capsule while I'm waiting for the photographer's permission to use his photo, so when I get this...
