To me, the Hubmetrics are like when a doctor takes your pulse. It's non-specific and not a complete picture but it does give you a sense of things.
I use them the same way I use the graphs or any other stats on this site: to get an overall sense. Then I go drill down in Analytics to get into the guts of things.
I use the statistics, graphs, and such as a vague pointer to how things are going, don't really delve in to the Hub Metrics too often though!
