Disappearing Capsules

This started last night and it occurs sporadically but enough to be irritating.

I'm editing a new hub and I have two capsules side by side - either two ebay capsules or a text and ebay capsule. The one on the left disappears.

I can see the capsule heading but the contents aren't showing up after I save the Hub. When I edit the hub the contents of the capsule are there. Sometimes if I take one of the items out of the ebay capsule it helps - but not always.

Sometimes the bottom part of my text capsule won't show, but the top part does. This usually happens if I've written and saved the text capsule and gone back in and edited it.

Sometimes hitting F5 helps sometimes it doesn't.

Am I going crazy. I've never had any issues like this before last night.

Could this be a browser compatibility issue? Maybe a systems upgrade your current browser doesn't support. You could try a different browser. Also, try emptying cache, closing the browser, and so on.

One possibility might be to be sure the edited page loads fully before saving. Depending on exactly how the Hubpages system "reads" edits, it may not render a new version of the page until loaded fully. Just a guess.

Thanks Mike. But why just last night. Not doing anything different than I've done for a year.

Like most gremlins I'd bet it will clear itself up.

That's always been my system wink

I run such a Plain Jane system. Was there an update to Internet Explorer that night? I swear I didn't change anything. I did have a touch of ameretto in my late night cocoa, but I promise it was only a teaspoonful.

Thanks for the thought though Website Examiner.

Actually, I was not talking about you changing things, more about the browsers staying compatible with the coding used by HubPages. I use different browsers, and some work better for editing than do others.

Don't tell me you're still using IE?  I changed to Firefox and have had far less problems - and let's not talk about the vulnerability of IE.

Probably your browser cache is full up. A good clear out now and again does wonders. Else the problem is with your internet access speed, which goes up and down depending on how many users are online. Usually this is a temporary problem. I have not lost amazon capsules but I frequently lose videos which although I am faced with a blank space, others can still see.

Maybe that's it IzzyM. I use an AT&T Laptop Connect thingy, so I always have an internet connection wherever I go. I shall just keep writing hubs.

I'll go with that. I started using Firefox just last summer and its amazing. I feel like I'm going back to the Dark Ages if I open Explorer.

You guys don't know what a loser I am at setting stuff like this up. At the risk of sounding pathetic - my husband will be home in two weeks and I'll ask him to help with it.

I can sell stuff, write sales copy all day long. But I don't get computers and stuff like internet browsers. I've paralyzed my computer many times.
