I find it interesting that you say "no online job crap", as the people on here making the most money are doing so online.... There are people making more money on hubpages per month than I am making from a full time office job....

She just joined two hours ago. I was just telling someone about this, Google search turns up with our forums for certain words, like "help", or "what" That's why we get so many people joining to start a forum. At least she wrote some hubs.

Well I wasn't really being critical of her... it's just that there was a hint of irony in her thread, as everybody is trying to suss out how to make money in this online job. I asked her how much she needs to earn from her part-time job because, well, I now earn about the same on Hubpages as my last 12 hour per week part time job... Which really, underlines the irony. A potential reply to her answer would be "you can earn that on hubpages", but I wasn't going to say that if she turned round and said "$1500 per month"....

True, I was just pointing out that I have seen many come here for help, not to write. That's all. I am still under 5.00, I made more in two weeks on Inbox Dollars. lol True! almost 11.00! I don't know how to collect it though. lol

$30 minimum payout, by cheque, I believe. I resorted to those types of sites when being stuck for beer money once at uni wink

Cool! Now I know what I'm shooting for! Cigarette money (almost) lol I don't drink beer, maybe I better change. Thanks Ryankett. Oh have you read the book, "The Well-Fed Writer" It's by a freelancer, and he tells how he got into some major freelance deals. I haven't bought it yet, but that's where I'd spend the money.

PETA is hiring in Norfolk Virginia, I don't know your qualifications. Campaigner is taken, but if you are old enough and a clean driving record, you may apply for Field Worker. You'd be responding to reports of animal negligence and abuse, and helping with animals in the shelter.

      Jennifer,

There may be a couple of things you could do to support yourself in college.  Maybe you could tutor people in K-12 school subjects......Places like Kaplan, Huntington Learning Centers, and Sylvan would be a good place to apply.  If you have a mastery of a subject for instance Spanish, you could tutor at a collegiate level.

If you have a good knowledge of foreign language, you can translate.  A person can earn a good income translating.

You can also apply at places that are in your area of study.  If you are in chemistry for instance, you could apply at company with a chemical lab.

Now, the old fall back is to get a job waiting or some other job that pays a little better than the norm.

One thing that many people don't realize is that if they are a good student (as you must be if you are accepted to an exclusive school), they can ask the school for a scholarship.  You can say that you need a shcolarship to afford to go to this school.  Good students benefit the school also.

I hope this helps and gets your mind started.

And where in Virginia. Some web searches work for jobs by location. I know PETA is hiring in Virginia, just had an e-mail. I'll get the link.

Yeah like this Google search turned up. Virginia job openings. I don't care where you live, but PETA is hiring in Norfolk, doesn't help you if you live in Richmond
