For anyone who is wondering about how many points they lose if they delete a hub, I deleted two hubs a week or so ago and I lost only 4 points -- maybe. I'm not sure even if the score went down a day here and a day there because someone felt they needed to rate me down on the score for a story or two. In that case, it wouldn't have anything to do with my having deleted two hubs. I'm going to find out, though, because now I've deleted one more.
Your Scores are going to go up and down whether you delete a Hub or make new ones.
You can't correlate specific changes in your Author Score to adding or deleting Hubs. It just doesn't work that way.
The only time I can say for sure that I saw someone's Hub Score truly benefit from deleting a Hub was when they had content that was in violation of the site TOS or duplicate content.
HubScores just ebb and flow naturally otherwise.

Should I or shouldn't I delete hubs that are not doing so well? If yes what length of time would you give a hub to make the grade so to speak?

I am thinking about deleting some of my old pieces of poetry that HP doesn't like very much--and posting them on my blog. Do I still get credit for the views that these hubs generated if I pull them??
