I've always been called Sean, which is Irish for John and is the name on my birth certificate. My bank found out and insisted I change my account to John.Pain in the neck because every other agency drving licence etc is in the name of Sean.
On Hub Pages I don't use my real name, but not because I have anything to hide. For anyone interested, Springboard is Jim Bauer. I use my real name on my blog for whatever that's worth. lol
Like Simey - sort of. My nazme is Tony and my surname McGregor, hence the mac. Don't ask about the "04" bit because even I don't know. I do know that if I were to start over at HubPages I would use my rela name. Why ever not?
lol well, I don't use my real name cuz a google search results in over 1,000,000 hits. yeah....Rafini turns up about 79,000. I like the odds better, especially since I usually turn up on the first page.
I use my real name. I find that it helps me to be civil when discussions get heated on the forums. I don't want to get cranky for all the world to see.
nickname - easy to find my real name - if I were going to start over I would call myself something else - but mega is short and easy to say and remember.
That might be the name of the place. It's been a couple of years since I was there, and I never paid attention to the signs. I just look for all the other people who are fishing lol. Ain't I the observant one?
Yup, that would be Bishop. I go there and stare at Canada sometimes while I eat my lunch.
*helpful tip* don't use your cell phone next time you go there. Lots of people I know have gotten hit with international roaming fees because the calls bounce off the tower across the river in Windsor. My phone roams there - but it happens ONLY at that one park.
I also use my real name. I hear all the time about internet security, but...I do not hide from what I write here on hubpages. I write and publish honestly and I would be happy for anyone to see publicly what I write about.
don't use my real name. but do write honestly - in fact too honest. as my thoughts move and writing evolves, who i am may be revealed. - i'm revealing my heart and soul right now (not for everybody - just for me anyway) and it's good for my soul - later......besides i like my aka!
same here. I've used real photos but not my real name as I am writing about very personal themes that have stigma attached. I don't want a potential employer googling me and judging me. Gives me a degree of privacy to allow me to write honestly about difficult themes
Same here, but if you don't want to do that, it's Anthony P. Lawrence and you can call me Tony, Tones, Anthony, Antony or pretty much wherever you want.
My ex-partners ex-wife used to get quite angry if someone accidentally called her Susan instead of Suzanne.
I always thought that was so childish. Many people call me "Larry" because they transpose my first and last names. What do I care? They may confuse someone else, but it doesn't bother me at all.
Something I've noticed on HP over the last few years. Certain people (like myself) use their own names to be identified as hubbers. Some use some cloak and dagger terrorist/CIA codename as their hubhandle. I sometimes feel kind of strange making myself so recognizable and identifiable in a room...
Actually it is my name, but now I'm hoping that song is stuck in your head. Uh... HP's changed my name on my profile page. Kinda weird. Im not sure how it happened or why, but the name on my account is "Sed-me" and in that little fill-in-the-blank-real-name-spot, I had my real name which...
I'm always interested in online identify (real or perceived) and have been reviewing the names or tags of various hubbers. Top of my list for the most useful name is:Mark KnowlesYou may provide suggestions, except you may not suggest yourself/your own name. I also believe Inspirepub and SunSeven...
Why do hubbers have odd names and not their original name.Hubbers have odd names and it is surprising they do not use their original names as it will give them a strong identity in internet.
