Dear Hubpages and Hubbers,
I am upset because I have been penalized for using the scriptures from the Holy Bible in a hub that is totally devoted to bible devotion! That is completely unavoidable and I don't know what to do! Please Help!
Duplicate content is duplicate content, and you DO have control over how much of it appears on your Hubs.
It's possible to have quotes on a Hub and not get penalized, but it means you're going to have to do some work and create original writing and have that be the majority of your Hub, not just paste up a bunch of quotes with a minimal contribution on your part.
Aim for a MINIMUM of 300 words, but better still 600-1000 words of original writing.
For every word you quote, make sure you add an extra two words of original content.
I have some Hubs which quote from other sites, and by following these rules of thumb I have never once had a duplicate content flag.
