THIS I WOULD SEEM PREFERABLE TO THEM BEING PICKED BY WHAT EVER METHOD IS CURRENTLY BEING USED.

Sadly, I don't think the site even claims to be democratic, nor democratically-fair, and for sure not republic.....
So you may be proposing an impossibility.
Besides, majority "rule" is not always "right" nor fair.
But I respect the fact that you have the guts to pose this idea.
I could tell ya first-hand some stuff about how First Amendment rights are either upheld and/or not upheld here, but what would the results be at this time?
