Yep it makes me happy every month. Is anyone getting an adsense payout for the first time? Tell us and we'll celebrate with you! Did you make your second payment in less time than your first? We'd love to hear about it. I'm already seeing rumblings in the forums that some people are having their best month ever.

My mystery is that my adsense payout is $16.49 more than what I thought it would be. I keep pretty close watch and note every day's earning on a spreadsheet, so I must have screwed up somewhere. (The paranoid part of me says, this is it, this is the end of adsense for you! - I know get over myself.)

      Congratulations Nelle!

You're an inspiration to many! I think by the time you were here the same length of time I have you were already up to something like $1000 a month, weren't you? But you concentrate on marketing and know how to do it, but hey you do it so well! We are all proud of you!

Me? I'm probably going to hit payout in about another month I think, but recently I've been getting really low value clicks so maybe it'll take longer.

My daily traffic is doubling every month, so after a slow start I can begin to see that one day I might well do OK at this.

I haven't cracked the whole Amazon thing yet but I keep trying and I'm seriously considering getting my own domain, just so I can maybe get accepted on to Ebay that I can then use here. No rush because until I crack Amazon, I'm not going to do well on Ebay.

Congrats again, and thanks for keeping us all motivated smile

I've finally got my second payment. The first took two years (yes, you read right). The second has taken six months. But this year I've put in a lot of work on a different username and have more hubs than before, which is what I assume has made the difference in time.

Will be adding more hubs soon, so hopefully I'll see less of a gap this time.

Btw: for some reason the payout for Australia is a min $150, not $100 so it does take a little more effort to get payout faster.

From two years to six months is quite an improvement. Hope the trend continues!

        Gidday Nelle how are you?
Yes Oz is 150 before payout.
I am thrilled mine is nearly 20 more than last time too and it happened in a quarter of the time.
While I am sitting waiting for it to arrive It looks like the following one will be half time again.
For everyone who has reached a payment a huge grats from me and to those not quite there, don't give in, give it all your heart and it will happen for you.

All Adsense accounts used to be reckoned in US dollars and only converted when it came to payout time.  When they switched to reckoning in local currency, they used the exchange rate to decide the threshold.

These days, with the Aussie dollar so close to the US one, it's a bit unfair as we're now having to earn a fair bit more than US Hubbers to get paid out.  Fortunately it doesn't affect me any more as I'm breaking the threshold every month now.

BTW a fair chunk of my earnings comes from Hubs I wrote for the last contest...so I recommend you check out the next one!

Perhaps other things - like resettling in Amrican and getting married - had you a bit distracted. I'm sure once your focus is back the clicks will return.

Hi IzzyM, Don't forget when I hit HP, I already had 8 years of online marketing experience. I think you're doing great and wise to focus your learning on Amazon. I still make a pretty penny with Amazon and they have some great products.

The beauty of HP is that you can focus your efforts on learning about niches, keywords and seo. When you get your own domain the list of things you need to focus on goes up dramatically.

I'm just now finally figuring out how to really integrate my own sites and hubs to get a maximum benefit, so the learning never ends - or really gets any easier.

    10. IzzyM profile image86
      IzzyMposted 13 years ago

Yes you are right - this has been and continues to be a huge learning curve for me. I am really glad I found Hubpages because I'm sure I'd never have figured anything out otherwise.
And I think I speak for most other contributors here too - I think most of us didn't know the first thing about SEO, keywords etc before we joined.
I still haven't totally grasped the concept, but I'm gettin there I hope smile

I just got my Adsense money into my account today and it was the largest single amount I've had to date. This one was for two months because I didn't quite make payout in March.  All that March money rolled in with April has made this the biggest payout today.  My monthly average is seeing a rise and I'm quite pleased with that.

That's great KCC. It's just great to see so many people reaching their personal bests and improving every month. I think it will be a wonderful Christmas season with all of this improvement!

I think that first payment proves to people that this stuff really works and that the money is real. It also gives us the confidence that we know what we're doing and we can make even more money. It's really very empowering.

Aww Nelle this thread is really an inspiration and a proof good enough that hardwork will always be paid. As for me, I have got two cheques and the duration between them is reducing by half. It indeed is a snowball effect. Can't wait to get one each month. How I wish Amazon worked for me as well too.. Before I forget, Congrats dear.

I have been receiving a monthly payout since February, and my income is growing steadily.

My next goal (fingers crossed!) is £200 sterling per month. Don't know when i'll get there, but i'm determined to make it soon.

      Congrats Nelle smile

I got my first payout last week. I'm in the UK so I've got a different payment threshold to most of you (it's £60 here, which is probably similar to $100 for US hubbers?). It's taken years to be honest, but I've only got back into the site this year after joining a couple of years back and only writing a handful of hubs. Hopefully the next payout will be much quicker than the first now I'm back submitting hubs on a more regular basis!

I have been with Adsense since 2003.   Payouts do sometimes change a little at the end.  Maybe they find some fraudulent clicks, maybe one of their servers was just late reporting so you get a little more, whatever, it happens

Adsense was a lot better then.  My second day (day, not week, not month, day) was over $150.00 but now I'm happy if I hit $30.00 a day.  It's been two years since I have seen anything over $50.00 in one day.

This recession did not help.  I suppose that initial largesse was also due to novelty and that there were few people running ads.  Now ads are everywhere, so even if someone would be interested in something, there is a good chance they have seen the ad somewhere else first.

But - Adsense still does  far better for me than anything else.  I have no complaints.

I have watched my adsense earnings become decimated on a earnings per click point of view over a similar time period to yours.

Look on the bright side, when the businesses begin to spend more on online advertising again, we should see a pretty nice increase in earnings back towards their previous level.

I could do with that sooner rather than later though tongue

First pay after 16 months, second after 8 more months, and May has been my best average month. I would anticipate another payment in perhaps 4-5 months.

      My strategy is dumb luck.

I might add that I don't really seek backlinks or pay much attention to keywords. So far I have not been focused on earning, though I have learned a few things just by doing, and by listening to the ideas of others.

For those of you starting out, and those of you who don't know anything about monetizing, I would say time and patience are two of the most important factors, but if you really WORK at it and pick up on all of the valuable advice offered here, (along with giving it time to work) you will probably do pretty well.
