Could we possibly have the option to "stop showing this thread"?
I don't want to shut down the whole category, and shutting down just the story doesn't help because the next post in the same thread pops up unblocked.
Quite often, I'll join a young thread while it is still interesting but would like to be able to drop it when it degenerates into junk.
Especially when the mud-slingers hijack an otherwise good discussion
I agree I would also like to be able to shut them down when I find them attached to my hubs. It truly annoys me to have the forums drama attached to my articles.

As we can update our hubs, I think it would be a good idea if you had the option to notify hubbers who are following that hub if there are any updates to the text or additional picture, etc.
