i have written many poems. can i post those as hubs. and can i do stories. i love to write and i would love to write stories as hubs. can i do this or does it all have to be about information?

You can write poems/poetry if you choose to do so. There are plenty of people(writers) who write only poems and nothing else.
You can write short stories or long stories. It is completely up to you what you write about. I just want to warn you, to make sure your words/written material does not violate TOS for Google Adsense or HubPages and you should be fine.
