I don't think there is but...

If a comment was left on a hub, and then hub has since been taken down, is there anyway to find the user associated with that hub?

    Yes!

If you remember enough about the hub, you can do text-string searches for it. If you find the hub (cache), you’ve got the hub, author, comments, etc.

    Or

If you remember enough about the comment, you can do the same thing.

Actually that's a very good tip, Paradigm.

Unfortunately I don't believe it was indexed by google. It was only about 75-100 words and not up for long. sad

    Thanks anyway!

    So mysterious...

She was new to hubpages and had written a very basic, short hub. I left a welcoming comment and was going to check for a reply - so I could maybe help her out if needed. sad

Her name started with 'Kat' and had some letters and numbers. Ah well....

You did what you could, and she pulled the welcoming bridge, then so be it. There are some very shy people around here.
