I just noticed that my Fudge Recipes hub has been reprinted all over the place...

At least I have the top spot when I search parts of it.

I'd be really upset if it was all my work but I had found the recipes elsewhere and rewrote them. But I really am irked that it was written in the 1st person about my own experiences...

I don't expect I have made much off it and I am still getting a lot of traffic from Google.

thats annoying- i think with recipes it is so much better when you have tried them yourself and made your own mistakes that you can write about!
Perhaps the money is like making sweets- takes a long time to get to boiling point

Chances are it was posted on a major article directory or two (One of the ones which allows republication).  My advice would be to chase down these sites and get it removed from them.

The sites which use those article directories fro content generally don't get much traffic, so you don't really need to chase after each one of those.

      And rightly so!

I'd be FUDGIN Fudged!  Not to mention Fudging Fudge To each Fudge again were clearly Fudgin Fudges

UW I need a Fudging Fudge so Fudging Fudge Its not Fudgnny!

btw Ever Fudging one of them Can Fudging kiss your Fudge, and now mine UW because they fail to realize in time their Fudged actions will have made you a fudgen loud of cash.[remembering lyrics then will be a priority UW makes mental note and leaves thread to give her some fudge]

[however unaware Lyrics stole recipe already thankfully with still no suspicion]

      I Fudging miss ya  smile

My recipe hubs have been ripped off all over the place too. I just had a bunch taken down. People totally misunderstand copyright when it comes to recipes.

They can use your list and measurements of ingredients, but that's it. The actual preparation methods, etc. cannot be copied.

i didnt know that methods could not be copied.
My mum says i copy all her recipes and that I should change the title to my mums cottage pie etc.....

That's what I did, copied the ingredients from elsewhere and wrote my own directions. It's not that difficult.

I don't know if it's worth chasing them down. One place I found it on was a forum and can't be bothered joining up just to tell them to delete it. Another was copied on a site that ignores emails and comments to remove articles, someone on Suite101 had a problem with the same site. Does anyone know how you report a Wordpress blog?

You should be able to look up the WhoIs info if it's self-hosted. You can also try reporting them to their ISP, but I've tried that before with absolutely no results. If they run AdSense or other advertising on the site, report it to them.

That's the main reason I don't post recipes.  I've got two simple ones up but any that are seriously different, ancient, or secret in any way are being saved for 'the book'.
