Please excuse my post here as I am sure I've seen this discussion on the forum but am still miffed as to 'how to enable another to sign up to hubpages through my recommendation?'

I want to start promoting hubpages as I know many folk who love to write so I would like them to sign in under my affiliate link but I just can't figure out to go about this.

Thank you for reading my question & although it may be the most obvious solution staring me right in my face please forgive me.

    Thank you. Dale

You need to set up a tracker or use the one you currently have here: http://hubpages.com/my/trackers

Then simply insert your tracker with an underscore in front of it directly after .com/ when linking anywhere on the site.

      Full instructions and information here:

Here you go: Click on 'affiliates' at the bottom of the page, and set up an URL tracker. You can give it a custom name, or use the random one they give you... Then add it to this URL for the link, with your personal tracker in place of mine... You have to add an underscore in front of your tracker ID :
      <link snipped>
Then, add this to all your hubs, advertisements, etc... The money will roll right in... But seriously, it's worth 10% of their add impressions, taken from HubPages cut, not theirs... win/ win

Thank you both for all your help, I must say, you really know your stuff, so thanks once again.

I have created the sign up link & added it to my current (unpublished) article but when I click it to test it goes to my hub profile page but does not have any options for the newbie to sign up anywhere.

I don't know if this is because I am logged in so maybe I can't view this 'sign up' section myself?

If maybe you could enlighten me I would be very grateful to you all once again & then I'm set to begin my passion & invigorating journey into my writing venture so just you try to hold me back lol.

    Kind regards Dale

You are welcome. Instead of clicking the link, try to right-click on it and then select "open link in a new tab" / "new window" or similar. As long as you have created a URL like shown in my forum post that I linked to above, you should arrive at the sign-up page. If you are still having problems, you can post here again after you have published your hub, and I will check out the link.

Dale, I did check it out, and that will not work:

    You have: http://www.hubpages.com/my/tracker/2zjnfpq65wt8q

    Should be: http://hubpages.com/_2zjnfpq65wt8q/user/new

The underscore is very important, or the tracker will not work. Also, the destination URL is now the signup page, which is what you desire.

What would I do without you? Thank you ever so much I have now updated the article with the correct code.

You have so much knowledge concerning your subject & I hope to learn as much as you so I may also help others in my venture.

      Thank you once again.
      Regards Dale

You are very welcome. There are lots of hubbers around the site with invalid sign-up links, only they don't know that. It is simply not realistic to contact each and every one of them. Good of you to go on the forum to ask.

Lol, I feel sorry for them, but one does have to make sure of facts before publishing & many folk disregard this aspect & rush right in only to lose out.

Thank you again for all of your help. Dale

The issue had already been resolved. Posting one's own URL tracker on the forum for purposes of self-promotion is spam, and has been reported as such.
