I hadn't heard this until now. My first live martial arts match I went to was back in 1993 when Sabaki was popular and ultimate fighting was coming around. The guy I was following who actually I trained with a few times was Patrick Smith when I had lived in Denver and was training at Tiger Kims Academy. Pat could break a baseball bat with his leg (shin). The first UFC matches were bloody mess but since rules have changed but still its the best of the best. I'll have to look further into this thanks for the heads up.
I've been a fan since they began...many years ago. Today, of course, there are rules and referrees, but the fights are still good. I boxed heavy weight golden gloves when I as a 185 lbr was considered a heavy...lol I've lost my interest in boxing. MMA is so much more complete. I never miss a MMA fight. I'm glad UFC and WEC merged. WE're gonna see some really good fights. Enjoy 'em! : Qwark
The Iceman - Chuck Liddell announced his retirement yesterday at the MGM in Las Vegas. He is going to be part of the management team which is well deserved. He was awesome to watch and is one of my favorites. Here's a link to the article I read
