Do we have any control over where the ads are placed? Or if they are boxes or not? I find myself irritated with placement of some ads and that they are video....?
You can only influence slightly where the ads will be. If you make the introduction long enough, there will be a box ad at the top-right. There will also be an add after the second text capsule but you cannot control much else. You can decide the placement of the Amazon and eBay capsules yourself however.
you can actually control the ad type. You can either select image or text. You have to go to the Google Adsense page setup and then "Manage ads". Edit the unit for 'Image only" and save. But it won't work for hubpages. HP inserts all the coding for our adverts, we can't control that. You can apply it in your own website.

There is currently a problem with the display of AdSense ads across HubPages. We are investigating the issue, and hope to have ads working again soon.

I notice as soon as I published my article that ads appeared. Are they automatically linked to my account through hub pages or do I have to set up a new link for each article? Thanks

Why am I not seeing any ads other than the ones hubbers manually add to their hubs? I don't see AdSense ads on any hub I've read in the last several weeks.
