Awesome-ness doesn't appear to be registering on hub.

I wanted to let someone know that I thought there hub was really Awesome,  I clicked the awesome button it said 1. I later went back the page but it no longer registered my opinion sad  I clicked again and registered as 1 again.  I refreshed the page to check and once more the 1 was missing against awesome.  I've also tried my clearing my cache just in case but still it doesn't appear to be registering my Awesome opinion.

Perhaps there is a really good reason that I'm not aware of?

The hub in question is "Romantic designs a recording" by attemptedhumour.

I noticed something similar yesterday when rating a hub. I wonder what the answer will be?

I know now its not just the hub I posted and referenced below - thanks for the heads up Kirstenblog I have now read your hub on Vicar of Dibley (very useful by the way from one fan of the show to another) but unfortunately it wouldn't record the Useful-ness.

Hope this bug (?) is sorted out soon - no pressure of course back end IT people :-)

Ahhh bummer! I would have been chuffed to see it marked as useful! Glad you enjoyed it tho! I just LOVE the Vicar of Dibley, Dawn French is soo cool! Anyway I hope that maybe your vote will be saved and when the HP elves get their tool box out and hammer a few things, screw a things back in there, the site will remember the ratings and show them again big_smile

I've missed many episodes of Vicar of Dibley. I got into it right at the beginning of the final season....  I wouldn't mind getting a a hold of the series to catch up on some laughter that I have missed.

BTW, I've just checked the official results that rates all of you in this thread and the official result is out. You are all AWESOME.

I think what I have been experiencing is LAG. I posted a comment yesterday twice by accident because it didn't immediately show after clicking the submit button.

Pcunix your advice might just have hit the nail on the head! I will be more patient with the instantness of the content management system.

I don't remember right now, but doesn't it sometimes take a few minutes for those things to register?

There may indeed be something wrong - my totals on those things usually creep upward steadily, but seem to have been stalled for a few days.  On the other hand, it may just be that none of the recent visitors liked anything they read!

I think it may be happening on my latest hub on keeping dogs outside. A couple of the commenters said they had rated it up and shared it, but there is only one 'share' showing, and that would have been me when I shared it on Facebook.

I believe this has not been working since I arrived two months ago.  It's the only explanation.

Aye, me too. I am quite certain I am way more awesome than HubPages wants to admit.

I am sure that is exactly the crux of the problem! wink
Stop being so darned cool so HP can work properly again! lol

No, it definitely has not been broken for two months.  I would say a week at the absolute most.

And most likely it will get fixed and you'll see a sudden jump in those stats.

Hmm. Well that puzzles me.  The results on my hubs do not tally with my expected awesomeness spreadsheet which I drew up just before joining.  I will write a letter of complaint to someone.

Surely the fault is with your readers.  I doubt a letter would impress them; I suggest that a personal visit and a thinly veiled threat is best.  The more thinly, the better.  Just keep it on the edge of plausible deniability.

That's what has worked for me.

Thanks Pcunix I will try that route.

It does seem to be fixed now though so I am slightly more awesome than I was five minutes ago.

I'd love to oblige but don't want to give my marketing secrets away.  If this fell into the wrong hands it could be dynamite.

I did however put some of your work through my calculator and it gave impressive results.

            May be a bug.

              It probably is a bug!
You need to get that sorted. My lame-o-meter has spontaneously combusted when rating certain hubs of mine wink tongue

Btw, it can't be entirely broken because I just got a "Useful" somewhere.

The HubPages software analyzes every hub and disables inappropriate feedback options. Sorry folks, but they have made awesomeness harder to obtain in 2011. It's part of HubPages long term strategy to make awesome content even more awesome so they need to set higher standards...

So does that mean you need X number of awesome votes to get an awesome point? Like a 2 to 1 ratio or something? That would in effect double everyones awesomeness wink
