Where do you get a good selection of photo's from that you can add to your hub page without having to pay a fee??
There are several sites from where you can download free photographs. However, its difficult to say that you may get photos related to all themes. Search the web using keyword "Free Photo". If you put keyword like "free images, roses", then chances are you will be directed to sites that will ask you to pay a price. Hope this helps.
Search for 'free photos' at HubPages. You will certainly find some good free photos.

Can using the word as a keyword or in the title have a negative impact on traffic. If so, are there any other words, apart from the obvious swear words which will do the same?
