I love all kinds of music. As of late though, I haven't had much to do with it. So I'm curious to see what everyone likes, what music they listen to most, and what artist or composer is their favorite? List as much as you like! (:

My list would be too long...so, I will mention a few (and this is really a small list):
      2PAC Shakur
Sade (we have already bought tickets for her concert in Frankfurt on May 12th, 2011)
Armin van Buuren (especially, in and out of love)
      DJ Rolando - jaguar
      Duffy
      Beyonce Knowles
      Duran Duran - Come undone
      Simple Minds
Movie soundtrack from Gladiator (Hans Zimmer)
...and many, many others (Italian and German music, too)

Oh, I'll hafta keep coming back for this one!  lol

Lately, my son's had me listening to his favorite music.  He says it's Hip Hop:

Lil Wayne, J-Sean, Bruno Mars, Jason Derulo, and Rhianna.

And, I like Lady Gaga - my son doesn't.

I question your son's taste! I'm gonna have to get him out into the real man world of rock xD haha, jk. I can't say I enjoy that music, though I don't mind listening to it. And I do like Lady Gaga haha.

He has fairly good musical taste - a little bit of almost everything, except country & classical.  smile

He really likes Africa by Toto   big_smile

Haha well that's good! I don't listen to a lot of country either. I love classical though. I don't think I've heard that yet, I'll have to look it up! (:

I mostly listen to alternative music, but I like easy listening too..^_^ I like the old ones though. They've got the best song meaning.
I'd like to share some on my list..
    Tori Amos
    Coldplay
    Snow Patrol
    U2
    The Beatles
    Alanis Morissette
    Norah Jones
    John Legend
    & Linkin Park.

Travis_S_Musicposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Very nice (: Linkin Park I was a fan of their older stuff. The Beatles seem to be getting more popular again, though I don't understand this new rise in everyone liking them again. Seems we're going backwards in time haha.

Extinct Soulposted 13 years agoin reply to this

I think what going on with the world has a lot to do with the liking-of-The Beatles-again thing..(it's just a guess lol) it was not really easy to forget the motif of their songs.

Besides, I just don't like the songs nowadays...the gaga um ra ra, baby baby oh,  Wha-Wha-What did you say ..hihihi sorry tongue..I guess a lot of people was getting tired of that too..

        1. Rafini profile image83
Rafiniposted 13 years agoin reply to this

I wonder if it has something to do with being real music?  The Beatles didn't rely on sound technicians to make their music sound good - it was good!

I heard from someone today who said the concerts they've gone to recently, it sounds like the performers can't even carry a tune....

Yeah, that would make sense. I admit I do like some of the newer stuff haha. Not something I listen to on a regular basis, but just something to  change the sound every once in a while. Rock music is more of my thing though haha, and classical, like Chopin, Bach and the likes.

I am in Dublin, Ireland so U2 is in the blood.  I have seen them 25 times in concert in places as far afield as Miami, Boston and New York.

I also like REM, Michael Stipe is a great songwriter while Keane and Pearl Jam are other bands I like.

From days gone by, artists like Eddie Cochran, Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra feature high on my playlist.

I like a lot of blues music. Bobby Blu Bland, Etta James, and Lou Rawls, though I wouldn't say he was strictly blues.
