can anybody tell me, do I need to submit hubpages online in any directory.Is it good to attract traffic?,If yes then can anybody name some free listing directories.

You would be better reading some articles on this rather than asking the question, backlinking is a huge subject. I wrote a guide called the Truth About Backlinks that mights give a you a few ideas if you are intereted.
I think you need to submit original articles to web article submission directories or you re-write them before submission. Submitting 'as is' could lead to your article(s) being rejected by some directories because this is generally considered as SPAM.
