1st Payout Received!!

   I am so excited!!  After reading the posts here I decided to look at my bank account, YES!!!  I received my Google Adsense payment!!  I knew I had reached my threshold at the end of December but thought I had to wait to be notified...
   
   Now dealing with the bank is going to be another story.... Sometime ago apparently they have changed policies and are now charging a monthly maintenance fee of $5...  My earnings could be eaten up quickly with that!! 
   
   Might just go with a credit union...  Trying to keep my HubPages earnings separate from my regular income, for tax purposes...
   
   But I got paid!!  YAY!!

         It took just a little over 5 months to reach the $100 goal.  But I also had over 100 Hubs by that time.

      I hate banks.
      
      My bank hits me with a $16 fee every time I drop below $5,000.00 - even if it was just for an hour or two and the average daily balance is two or three times that!  I get so angry when that happens because they make a lot of money when my balance is high (as it often is).
      
      I would switch if all the ACH stuff wasn't such a pain to redo.

         I wish I could say for sure when the next payout was going to be, they said they wouldn't charge me a fee if I had a monthly deposit....  So... still not sure what I'm going to do...
         
         Yes, I hate banks too!!  But it seems ya gotta have 'em..

   Even better, what everyone says about the second payout is true; it comes faster.  I've earned my second payout in December (the check was made yesterday) after earning the first in October at about 5 months.

       That is where the 'residual' part comes in.  Make lots of good quality Hubs, that people like to read.  The web crawlers will pick them up and you will make income while you are at college!  That's the beauty of HubPages, once you get started it keeps working for you!

       It will come, it just takes time.  I turned it into a 'full time' job, I not only write but also promote my work on facebook, twitter, myspace I have a couple blog sites that I promote my work on also. 
       
       Its sort of the same as writing a Novel or book of any sort.  You write a hard copy, then comes the hard part, getting people to read it.  First you would have to get an agent, then have the agent convince the publishers that it is worthy of being read, then comes the marketing.  It might be fun to go on tour of book stores, get people to buy your book, then sign your work...  BUT you aren't writing while doing this.
       
       Just my take on how it all works!!

             LOL, no not a clue as to what has been paying and what hasn't.  I've tired to figure it out and can't seem to do so.  I have many Hub's on many different subjects.  My 'sales' type Hubs don't seem to do well at all.  I just finished one that I thought 'might' have a few $$$ signs in the stats... but no, only 1 $ sign.  So I have given up trying to write for the $$$ and just write what I have on my mind and hope it does well.

                I see you have 3 Hubs and have been here for just 2 weeks... If you have $5 you are doing VERY well.  It took me almost a month just to get $1.
                
                During this time I was writing at least 1 Hub per day!  Sometimes more.  By the end of my first 30 days I had 45 Hubs.

                Enable Analytics.  That will show you exactly what has been working and what has not.  The $$$ stuff is just a guess - pretty much meaningless.

                   Oh, I did.. It's kind of confusing though.  I does show what has been viewed etc...  I thought the $$$ meant the ads that are placed, and if they are good paying ads...  Oh well, I think it's supposed to be confusing so we get paid what they want to pay us and we can't complain!
                   
                   I have noticed a decline in pay from one of what I though was a higher paying Hub.  My 1st Mystery dinner hub, I'd get clicks on that when it was googled,, I noticed one particular pay was $1.67 being repeated (not sure which ad etc...) but since the 1st of the year, have been having loads visitors on that Hub yet max is .22 cents... I have thought that was odd...

    Thank you, the 5.00 is from my other blog on bloggers.  Before I came across the wonderful hubpages I was using blogger with adsense.  Now I am kinda doing your idea of writing multiple hubs to see if that will bring a broader revenue of money.  I know that people make alot of money using adsense and I would love to see a great turn around.  So I guess I will keep tapping the keys on my keyboard and hoping!  :-0
