I was wondering if I should copywrite my art/poetry before putting them on the web. Is it even worth my time to post them?
You already copyright your work by publishing it. Of course, it does not stop people from stealing what you right but you if you can prove when you published it you can file a DMCA.
As to whether it is worth your while to post poetry, it isn't likely to make you any money. But if your purpose is to touch someone else, that's different.
