I usually use the highest PR social bookmark sites for my backlinking but I have overdone it in the past and had some hubs removed.
My question is, what is a safe number of backlinks so that I don't violate Hubpages terms and get my hubs deindexed?
Diversity and focus are the operative words. Not a handful of sites linking to hundreds of hubs, but hundreds of sites linking to a handful of hubs.
Well, I can't know all of your circumstances. I told you what I am doing, and I never had a problem with HP staff about it. And I don't restrict myself just to social bookmarking sites, I use all of the available link variety - articles, blogs, comments, profiles, forums...

Just wondering.Mine was around 47 when it was first introduced. I then added some links to other hubs and now its risen to 75 in about 3 weeks give or take.
