To a select bunch of countries? Say:
Or to, alternatively, ban sign-ups from specific countries?
Before you all go bonkers, there are three good reasons:
1) I am specifically targetting traffic from those countries.
2) Most of my spammers come from certain countries.
I have been watching Snipsly, SheToldMe and Best-Reviewer, the likes of whom I can realistically compete with, and note that they are particularly busy in India.
Now, I have absolutely no issue with our Indian friends, and if any of our Indian Hubbers ever want to sign up I would be extending an invite, but the best chance of reaching a US and UK audience is to have US and UK writers. The 1 cent Indian clicks aren't worth the bandwith and the minority who let them down aren't worth the google stress.
The spammers are about 70% chinese.
If I could do this, then I would probably start a second community, which actually TARGETS India.
May I ask why you are asking this here rather than in the Wordpress forums? I suggest taking this question over there. That said, please select the right wordpress! Wordpress.org is only for those who have their own domain name and websites while the other wordpress is for those who blog without their own website. Thanks.
