Can someone suggest a good way to backlink for recipe blog/website. I am finding it a bit difficult as doing article marketing seems impossible.
Depends on how big of a recipe blog / website you got.
You can do 'best of for occasion ______" which are instant hubs / articles.
Occasions can be Holidays, Occasions (birthdays, anniversaries). Then you can pick "best 5-minute recipes", "best for left-overs", and so on.
Individual recipes goes into the blog. Collections go to hubs.
I am to start it but without backlinking no site/blog can rise in ranking especially Panda update so before I start I need to make sure that everything is in place to make things work.
I'd recommend getting the site set up before starting to backlink. Get the content in first then work on the externals.

Is backlinking one of those annoying yet necessary tasks to improve traffic? Which is more effective for backlinking? Excerptz or Squidoo?

I just wondered if anyone backlinked their backlinks, like putting Shetoldme links on Reddit for example. I'm seriously running outta ideas of how to get traffic.
