Since when is classical music classified as "Entertainment and Media"? Why should Shostakovich, Beethoven or Arvo Part - great artists all - be "entertaining"?
I know that classical music has to be classified somewhere, but does this have something to do with the dumbing down of art and culture across the world?
It bugs me.
I think it is error to discriminate classical music in this way. Even some classification is done where classical music is sub-categorized as "Entertainment & Media". So, what else. It is our duty to stop wrong categorization of Classical music.
