How do I enable comments to post directly (so i don't have to approve them). I thought I saw this option somewhere but now I can't seem to find it..
I wouldn't suggest doing that. Someone could put pure spam or advertisments for their own purposes in a comment. It has happened to me.
That's good advice.. if that were to happen could I not delete it?
Unless you tick 'do not post comments without approval' they are posted directly on your hub..You can delete comments or mark them as spam if you think they are ..it is your hub and you can do pretty much what you want with the comments - approve or delete as you think fit.
I must have checked that little box.. soooo how/where do I uncheck?

One of my articles is waiting to have an editor approve it. I re-worked it according to their recommendations, but I have not yet had anyone approve this and republish it.

I just got a comment and instead of the usual Approve/Deny, I got Not Spam/Delete Forever. I went to the commenter's profile and he had no followers and only two hubs showing although the hub count was 30-something....
