No. Pinging may get you recognized and indexed by the SE's but outside of that it won't bring traffic.
What's the point then? If getting indexed doesn't bring in more traffic, what's the point?
You will be indexed eventually - pinging just may make it happen quicker.And getting indexed is, of course, necessary for organic traffic. Without it you won't get any at all.

Pinging works to get you indexed faster. Pinging also gets updates you make to your hubs noticed faster. Updates should mean better quality hubs. Better quality hubs means more traffic.Pinging is free on some services so try it and see for yourself how it affects your traffic.

Wordpress submits each post to ping services like pingomatic. Should we be submitting our Hubs to these services or submit a ping each time we post a new Hub?
