Why the most Hubbers are females? Why there are less male Hubbers?
Strange coming from a member of the male species who generalize women as more talkative than them.
Because I think that after care of their house, they have much leisure time and they may be utilizing here.
Yes you are right Madurai. I am totally agree with you.
Yes you are correct and same thing i was trying to say!
How did you find out this? I have always thought that there are more men hubbers than women hubbers only that women have an average hubber's score that is higher.
I believe he took the time to Count Them all in the 'Hubbers' section of current members!
You can find out that detail from Alexa. Here is the link. You can click audience..you will get the detail
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/hubpages.com#
Because they are much better writers of course. Only kidding.
I believe there are many men here. They are just silent because we can be expressive with our words. lololo!
It's your Parsnip accent that stumped everyone!
Were you not invited to the 'sister' site for guys only??
Because there is a hidden writer in every woman. And we (males) spend more time in other activity than writing.
Hold on while I just finish sweeping the kitchen then I will return for an idle chat.
Women are just better at multi tasking..... They can run a home, keep a husband and children happy, hold down a difficult job, do the shopping, cooking etc, and with the other hand, just keep on line,,,,,,,
I would like to see proof of this demographic.
What proportion of the estimated 239,000 hubbers is female?
OHNO!!!!
Please don't get him to go back and count them all again - it took him 13 months to get his figures... it's slow work!
But when you see any set of about 100 Hub writers, you find that females are in majority. It is just a sample survey.
Because women are more social than men, plus our spouses, boyfriends and children tune us out, so we come to a place where we won't be merely background noise.
LOL this is the best thread ever.. thanks for the laughs .. I had a lovely day..but to end it laughing and falling out of my chair is the way I like it to end
so is it time for bed for you Sofs, speak tomorrow, hugs
here is a piccie of my new hub. ssssssshhhhhhhhh
Women have a lot to say! Haven't you noticed? The next time you see a couple walking together, watch who is doing the talking, gesturing, leaning in, facial expressions, and who is looking straight ahead like they are dealing with information overload. That will give you some idea.
Yeah... It sure is tough seeing Pets treated that way!
Why do so many men pretend to be women or use female avatars online?
It must be that age old obsession with pantyhose!
I much preferred Tantrum's stance on that one.. everyone wanted to know her when she took her beard off!
She comes from Argentina and is an awesome artist and poet... I'm not sure if she still has a page here.. she got bullied here.. badly and started writing elsewhere under several successful names. She pretended to be a guy.. to prove that female avatars got more fans.. and she was right.
she was very active on here when i was around long ago, and i have to say did her fare share of bullying..... oops maybe now i will be banned.
She was pretty gutsy and stood up for herself alright.. but you had to appreciate her underlying sense of humor and intellect.. there still is a lot of animosity between UK and Argentina over the Faulklands war! For her though the bullying she got was absolutely disgusting and I saw many copies of abusive emails from more than one 'popular' hubber and forum troll here.
I wondered what happened to Tantrum! Perhaps she did the correct thing by going elsewhere. I'm considering doing the same since I've been getting banned from the forums every week or so. Apparently there is a flagging group following me around and reporting almost everything even remotely suspicious in my posts. I wonder who they could be?
I'm glad Tantrum has the good sense to leave when she did and appears to be better off for it! Tell her I said hello if you converse with her occasionally.
ooooxxxx0000OOOO(:c-<
Who'd follow you around Randy?? Geeze, snake oil sellers?!?
can't see why you'd be banned!
That's why I put the supposed posts on another forum so others could perhaps give me a clue as to what I said. I finally received an answer to my query about this but I still fail to find the supposed personal attacks in the forum posts they alluded to.
And the mods never gave me any reason as to how I was "mistakenly banned" for 4 weeks! How could that happen? I'm presently open for any possible scenarios anyone may have. If I don't respond you'll know the reason why!
ooooxxxx0000OOOO(:c-<
oooo, sliding on slipper sands there snakey!!!
wish I had an answer for you... but I'm about as in the dark as a dust bunny in the closet.
should my bunny ears catch anything, i'll let you know.
oh yes, love your ssssnnnnnaaaakkkkkeeee (what ever happened to the green one?!? that one was cute!!)
My snake logo? When my "mistakenly" given 4 week ban was rescinded the email informing me of such had a "by the way" message that I could not use this emoticon any longer as any such active link was against the HP TOS. Apparently, it wasn't noticed for years until the controversial Elite thread was started by myself.
Coincidence? What do you think?
ooooxxxx0000OOOO(:c-<
I didn't realize there were more women here. I follow a lot of men on here and I have a lot of men followers. I really enjoy both but being a female I like to get the perspective of the other side.
I haven't noticed more women or men on the site yet. Maybe I should start poking around more...I'll get back to you. :-)
Why does it always have to be about men/women? Why can't the issue be about there needing to be more pirates!
yar
We live in a male dominated society where the males are expected to earn a regular income. In order a earn a good online income regularly, it takes some time so mostly males depend on office jobs or business than writing online. Whereas there are no such restrictions (mostly) for females to be breadwinners for the family and may have more time to spend on online writing.
Only 0.5% of Hubbers are women. The rest are men pretending to be women!
That sounds about right to me.
Contrary to popular opinion, a whole lot of women are earning livelihoods for themselves and their families out there, and a whole lot of others are contributing to one degree or another. I'm not sure the implied message that women just have a whole lot time to waste and fool around online is very accurate.)
Here's another theory: Women are far better managers of time, and far more able to squeeze three or four different "full-time" endeavors into one day; and when they're done, and have a couple of hours of time just for themselves (once every few days or few weeks) they're then industrious enough, and smart enough, to use that spare time in a way that makes them money while also aiming to fulfill the aim of sharing something worthwhile with the world (even that's only offering someone an entertaining read, a laugh, or a tip on how to get wine stains out of a tablecloth).
...but don't listen to me. I'm just a guy pretending to be a woman (because, after all, God knows that women have such an easy time getting people to take them seriously and pay attention to what they have to say). (Hmmm. Maybe I'm pretending to be the wrong kind of woman. Back to the drawing board on that "alter-ego Hubber identity" thing, I guess...)
lolololololol were just silent because we are secretly looking for the super hub that we will write so that we can make the biggest entrance ever seen - Or is that just me??? lol
Oh, well... that's easy!
Because we love to talk, and if you kidnap us and lock us in the bathroom we'll probably start talking to our own reflection in the mirror. If there is no mirror we can always talk to our own shadow for hours on end. And if we are at home, and have no one to talk to, and have access to the internet, we'll use our fingers to "talk" with strangers because the world needs to finally understand that women make more sense than men. There you have it! I said it! Now let me get my shield and sword!
S-N-O-R-E! Does it really, really matter? Most of us write, so why keep tabs on the men/women thing? It gets older than them thar hills. Didn't you know that people can be anybody online? You don't know who you are dealing with. With a question like this, it sounds like you're bucking for an accolade, Bud. Or you are hard up for some online attention! I suggest you be more creative with your questions. Writers are known for being creative, you know.
Perhaps you don't see the males in forums enough, how do you know with fake avatars anyhow?
Richie its because were all waiting to make an entrance with a super hub lol
I don't know, but I read an article today that says most embezzlers are women.

The title should read: So many "hubbers" can't spell yet they publish...why?I read the comments of so many "hubbers" in the forum and in published hubs who can't spell and don't check spelling or syntax before they offer their comments, TO THE PUBLIC!I'm very anal about my...

Ok so this is one of those rare occasions I'm in the top ten with a score of 100 but I notice the rest of the top ten are apparently women (you can never be sure on HubPages!). Similarly there is apparently only one other man in the top 20, Mark Knowles (I say apparently because 'frog...

Hey Hubpages Staff,I've been a member for 15 months now and have been told countless times that "Share with Followers" is NOT to be used by the author of a hub. Then why is it that the FEED is loaded with Hubbers promoting their own work?

Why do some hubbers not have their real picture on their profile?I've seen at least a couple of hubbers who have photos of actors or actresses as their profile image. Whom are they trying to fool and why?

I'm always interested in online identify (real or perceived) and have been reviewing the names or tags of various hubbers. Top of my list for the most useful name is:Mark KnowlesYou may provide suggestions, except you may not suggest yourself/your own name. I also believe Inspirepub and SunSeven...

Hi All, So, this might not seem in the spirit of hub pages comeraderie, but I am a little uncomfortable with having a particular member follow me. The name is ZAGOOTO, and he has no profile information, no hubs, but 11 followers. Who on earth is this person? Why is he "following" people...
