A guy in France found an old article I wrote about William Blake, and he wants to use it as part of his musical stage review, "An Ode to William Blake." He wants me to write more, too. I thought that was pretty cool! You just never know who's reading your online stuff! We haven't worked out all the details yet, but I'm definitely interested.
Instead of selling it to him, offer him another whole new one with additional info as the person wants
And congrats
Congrats, habee. Sounds exciting!
That is one thing I have to say is going well for me on HubPages - I have picked up freelance work after using my subdomain(s) as reference.
Nice One... You might be really busy then... as I passed on your Onion Policy to the Master Chef team who were very interested..

They were interested in you writing a series of Vegetable Health & Safety Manuals.. as a Direct result of how your onion fought back when you tried to cut it the other day!
Have you ever had requests from magazines to publish any of your hubs? I received one yesterday and am pondering the situation.
I've sold articles to magazines, but I haven't sold any of my hubs. Last year, I was contacted about selling all my beauty pageant hubs, but I refused the offer. I figured the residual income for the hubs was worth more than a one-time payment.
That is my dilemma. To be able to say that I have had anything published would be a goal achieved. I do make nice residuals off of the articles that are wanted.
My concern is that if I allow the magazine to publish four of my hubs, will that somehow create duplicate content warnings? If the article is not online, I am not sure of the danger.
I would not sell my hubs. Actually I am not even concerned about the money, I am concerned about my property and the effectiveness of continuing to earn from them.
If I knew for sure that there would be no problem on the internet side, it would make me proud to have them published.
Thank you for the advice. As soon as I read the e-mail, I thought of you. You still are the benchmark of success in my book
OMG, RB - what a sweet, wonderful thing to say! Thank you!
I'm curious what those answers are myself. Isn't there a policy here at HP that says we can't publish or sell the rights to a hub or its contents? I would think duplicate content warnings would show up, unless there is some kind of timeframe where HP doesn't scan your stuff vs. internet anymore...
The article will only be in print within a magazine. I have been told that in no way would my content appear anywhere on the internet. I will receive a link to my profile page on the magazines website. Other then that there is no payment involved.
My goal when I started writing was to have something published. I am excited at the thought that something I authored will be available on newsstands!
Congrats, habee. You're right of course, you never know who's reading your stuff.
Wow - congratulations, Holle! Very exciting news! Hey, maybe you'll get a chance to travel to France and see the musical review in person! Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?
Congrats Habee and good luck to you. I have gotten a couple of email inquiries but was always skittish and wary of them because they did not seem legitimate. I never followed through with such prospective partnerships but this one sounds very good for you and I hope it works out.
habee, congrats, it's always welcome to get additional revenue for the same article, and here you have a very irresistable offer. Go for it and enjoy doing it too!

Okay, so I am another person here really. But for the sake of posting in the forum I thought it better to be incognito. I am surprised no-one has mentioned this yet on the forums (well not that I have seen anyway)My question is: "Have many people had hubs unpublished lately due to...

I've just reached a landmark of 100 followers (yay, me!), which might not seem like much, but it's built up pretty slowly over time, and I've made sure to interact with everyone I'm following regularly (106 now), checking out new hubs, etc. It made me consider an interesting question:How do...

I've been here for almost two years now and have published 25 featured hubs. I calculated my average views per hub per day as 4. It is actually a bit better than that because the numbers involved the beginning period when I had only a couple of hubs and no views at all. But you Hubbers out there...

I joined hubpages some 8 months ago and have already published 37 hubs but up to this writing, I haven't earned a single centavo. I am old. I am a normal human being like you. I need money too like you. Whenever I read and hear a hubber shouting to the world he already...
