Adding Hub Sections "Stuck"

Hopefully this makes sense (apologies if it doesn't) but today I started noticing sometimes when I try adding a section to a hub, nothing would happen and the side button would be "stuck" saying cancel. It would also move with the page as I scrolled. Is this just something that happens or is it possibly me?

For more background info, I generally use Firefox as my browser.

The problem isn't too bothersome but because of it I now make sure I have two HP tabs open to see if my changes take while the first one is frozen.

I'm hoping this problem is just a bug in Firefox or something. Forgive me if this is normal, I've only been here a week, lol.

    Thanks!
    Harper

Welcome, HarperDavis. I was having trouble, too. I finally stopped using Firefox and started using Google Chrome. My hubs finally stopped freezing during editing. I also make sure that I delete the history more frequently.

Thanks for replying! I might try it out on other browsers and see what happens. I recently set my computer so it doesn't log history at all (thought it was extra work for no reason), but I'll look into it again.

History and cache are two different items. Clearing history does not necessarily clear the cache as in most browsers you have the option to pick either or both. You may want to see if you are clearing the cache as well.

I should have been more specific, I clear both the history and cache.

Okay, sounds good! Just wanted to clarify in case you were not aware. Good luck!

Always happens to me. I just add new capsules from the top right and after a bit it fixes itself.

Thanks for replying! I'll be glad when I figure out all of what's normal or not.

Welcome to HubPages HarperDavis.  I am happy and proud that you figured out the right place to post your question.

I also use Firefox and that happens to me from time to time.  Even if it is "normal" it shouldn't be happening.

I assumed that the issue was my computer and not HubPages, because it generally happens when some program kicks in the background, like my Virusscan kicks in, or Windows decides to upload an update. It has happened (rarely) when there isn't background stuff, but mostly at the end of the day after I've viewed videos or otherwise taxed the system.  Probably I need more RAM (or better yet a new computer).

Do you know if your issue happens when there is background stuff happening?

Thanks for replying and the welcome Millionaire Tips.

I almost always have something running in the background, but only programs like iTunes for music or Word to help me edit. I do have CS5 and other RAM heavy programs but I only open them when necessary. I'll see what happens when I only have Firefox open though. I own a Mac so I'll test our your hypothesis with Safari as well.

      Thanks again!
