I think it is not possible to assign categories to answered questions in the Q & A section. May be its because those were posted years ago. Is there a way to do it as of now? If not, it will be a helpful feature to get some traffic to those old questions, I wonder!
SunSeven, today it's not possible to Edit a Question once it has received answers.
Some questions do not have categories because the category structure was created after the questions. You are correct, this occurs with questions posted prior to mid-2010.
I've added a feature request for our development team to allow categories to added to uncategorized questions. However, I will be honest that because there are so few of these questions, and it's unlikely to help with getting traffic to them, it's a pretty low priority so unlikely to be implemented any time soon.
