SquidMonster: Even more Squidoo Addictions

I've been addicted to Squidoo almost since I arrived here. Made a little money, and then it was even worse.

Well, now my addiction has escalated even further with the newest release of Squidoo (or SquidooPlus) and the appearance of SquidMonsters, Level, Points and Trophies.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say Squidoo, click on "About Us" way, way down on the bottom of this page to learn about this great community.

HINT: Getting out into the community and visiting and rating other's work gives points. Enticing visitors with quizzes and other reader interactive polls and duels rewards even more points. Earning Purple Stars gives points, too. Creating new lenses earns Lotsa points, and completing Quests gives the most points. I imagine being awarded The Lens of the Day grants the receiver Gargantuan points. More points equals even more rewards and increases your levels achieved. :D Learn more by clicking on the featured lenses written by my talented Squidoo colleagues.

and Welcome to the Party...

I first discovered Squidoo when I was looking for a place to write about my Soy Candle obsession that I was attempting to make into a business. Shortly thereafter I wrote a couple of lenses (Squidoo's version of articles or pages) about other interests like Movies and Green Cleaning.

With the support of the community, including the always encouraging Squid Angels, before long I had 10 lenses which was just a start of my fondness of Squidoo.

I was nominated for the RocketMoms group and Giant Squid in October of 2009. RocketMoms are able to join no matter how many lenses you may or may not have, but Giant Squid membership requires 50 quality lenses. With the help of our fearless leader bdkz and the other members of this awesome group I wrote a lot of pages and was awarded a Giant Squid badge March 2010. The day after, I was awarded my first Purple Star. Within a short time with the deadline looming in October 2010, and the help(?) of the SquidMonsters, I applied for and received Giant Squid 100 status. :D Click here to see how out of hand it's gotten.

Oh, and about those other addictions...

I wrote a funny Time Management lens that describes my day perfectly. I've created Twilight Movie and Cast lenses (OMGosh! I have 20! I made need a Twilight Addiction lens), and quite a few 80's lenses which seems to be a new theme to add to the party that I have yet to assemble in a collection. I'm starting to feel that addictive itch so I'm sure I'll succumb soon.

Uummm. I have 4 official ones, and probably 3 unnamed ones.:D

How much time do you expend chasing the SquidMonsters a day?

I may have not caught all my appearances on this leader board, since you are not notified by email. (Wonder if I could request that?) Only notified by a pop-up message while online, I think.

My addiction to the SquidMonsters is paying off. :D

(But then again, aren't most Addicts in denial? Well, not me.)

Now this part is really, REALLY, addicting:

"If I can just get to level ?? before I have to..."

It's possible to get really creative to avoid other commitments when there is a reward involved.

Note: I'm not even sure you can achieve the upper echelons, but it's fun to think about.
