A smile can positively affect your mood. I am not saying walk around all day with a smile on your face like some idiot, but be more conscious of what your face is portraying to others.
Consciously practice smiling, even when you don’t feel like it. You will immediately feel a lift in your spirits and attitude.
A smile also is no-verbally communicates that you are a warm and inviting person. A smile will draw people to you, but a frown will make be want to run from you. Smile more!

Master your Thoughts
Watch what you are thinking! Do not allow your thoughts to control you, but rather control your thoughts and you will be a happier person. Negative thoughts are like ghosts that won’t let you live in peace. Exercise the demons and it will change your life.
Forgiving is a part of mastering your thoughts. When you learn to master your thoughts, you will be able to forgive easier and thus become more positive.
As soon as you catch yourself thinking something negative, self-defeating or depressing; stop it immediately and say out loud something contrary to what you are thinking. Always replace a negative thought with positive words.
Thoughts are words internalized and these positive words eventually become new thoughts. Learn to verbally replace negative thought with powerful, positive words.

Every day take time to dwell on your blessings. Be grateful for the good things that have happened in your life. Be grateful for all that you have. Are you living?
Do you have a roof over your head? Do you eat every day? These are basic things you can be grateful for every day.
When you are grateful for what you have, this will open the door for more good things to come into your life.
Break Negative Patterns
If you come from a negative family, there are some negative patterns that need to be broken. Ask a good friend to stop you, each time you say something negative, self-defeating or depressing.
Believe me they have been dying to say
something any way, they will be glad to help you out. Stopping you in the middle of a negative
statement will help you to see how often your do it and help you to later catch
yourself when you are alone. It is your job to develop the power of positive habits.

If your negative thinking is so bad that it is crippling your life, if may be advisable to get professional help. The root of your negativity may come from some childhood trauma and unresolved wounds.
