Today, July 14, I turned 73
I am thankful to God, my parents who are now resting, my 6 siblings (1 is already resting), my aunts, children, uncles and grandparents for helping me see this world. If not of them, I would not be here.
Because of them, I learn to read, write and do a little Arithmetic. I finished college and become a public school teacher in 1964. I do enjoyed every inch of more than 10 years teaching experience in barangays unreached by passenger buses, because there is real peace and quiet, God and nature is with you 24 hours of the day as you hear the Kalao birds sing amidst the rushing waters from the falls.
Barangay-bred pupils are easy to deal with not like their city counterparts. Tell them good lessons of Good Manners and Right Conduct and they’ll try to live up to what are expected of them.
In field assignments, teachers almost do everything, not only teach lessons in school. Barangayfolks ran to you for counsel on how, what and when to do things. When someone got sick, they ran to you for medicine and how to administer it. And you can give and take food with them especially during harvest time.
I got married and raised kids, 3 boys and 2 girls, who are now happily married themselves, all 5 with children of their own. They also have their own means of livelihood.
From teaching, I exerted efforts to transfer and landed under the Department of Interior and Local Government in 1973 for better pay. Trained as Local Government Operations officer under the DILG, I was assigned in the municipalities of Pagsanghan, Daram and Paranas where I had the chance of teaching and molding municipal and barangay officials learned the basic rudiments of doing effective governance.
In January 1, 2002 at age 63, I retired from public service to give way to energetic and capable applicants.
I am now exactly 73 years of age having been born July 14, 1938.
With the knowledge I got about computer and internet, I resolve whatever good things comes to mind, I’ll try to publish them for the world to share, if God’s willing.
