An Analysis of a Psychiatrist
A Shrinking Definition
What is the motivating factor, that causes a human being to go after,
the study of the human mind, with its complexities, their manufacturer?
The biological drive, the false reasoning, by some, who do so contrive,
Perhaps the environmental surroundings, in which we all are to thrive?
The education, in its totality, several long years, to study all abnormality,
Makes one to question, a person's own digestion, if there's reason or rhyme,
Was there a happenstance, in bygone days, of creating this future, by chance,
Could it just have been, a need to know, or an obsession, to be his, so sublime?
(OOPs...I must have had some psych problem for getting out of the rhyme in time.)
As on his own couch, his body is to lay, assessing his own needs in the day,
Reflecting in the severity and the causative problems, all on an ugly display?
Did he have an unnatural affection, or an obsessive-compulsive attraction,
Did he see some horrible affliction, affecting his brain, in a terrible distraction?
The puzzled Psychiatrist, remains in his state, of bewilderment, this is his fate,
His lack of understanding, to be on his plate, a bitter pill, in not to concentrate.
To profess in not calling a kettle black, especially true, if the functioning, it lacks,
While as reminiscent, to fall through the cracks, all those events, piled in stacks..
To play the Houdini role, changing whats so false, to a realness, and this to extoll,
His dedicated goal, and by Hippocrates, we are told, in the healing, for this to unfold.
"Physician, heal thyself", this to do, above all else, be your own shrink, then to begin
One day, you may comprehend, your own motives, and its message that you do send,
