Are You Escaping Your Life?
It seems in the last few weeks, I have been noticing a lot of similar sayings and advertisements. They include:
"Escape" to an island adventure.
I need to have a "getaway".
Girls weekend "away".
Come on and "escape" the rat race.
I want to get out of the rat race.
And so on and so on! You know. I am sure at one point or another, you have said or heard the same things.
Is our "everyday" life really that bad? What do we set ourselves up for when we keep using these phrases? Is it any wonder that things never change?
One of the jobs of our subconscious mind is to match our reality with our dominant thoughts. Now, some people may say (as others have) that this is not true. They say they think about money all the time, but they still have none. The problem is, is that most people think about the lack if money (I.e. I need money, i need money, I need money), rather than the abundance. Therefore, they will always be in "need" of money. Look at your life over the past month, then look at your thoughts. I would say they pretty much match up. If not, feel free to leave a comment.
Now, based on the above statement regarding our minds being true, what can we determine will happen to us by using the phrases outlined?
First, the word escape is key. What do you think of when you hear that word? I would say, escape from prison. If you believe that, then would it not make sense that we are actually programming ourselves to believe that 50 weeks out of the year is spent in "prison"? That our daily life, mostly work, is nothing but a jail sentence and hard, boring, work?
I can illustrate that this is in deed, a fact for most people. I speak to tons of people throughout my day. I ask them one simple question. How are you doing? The responses are overwhelmingly negative and center around getting the day over so they can leave their rotten job. Take a poll someday. See what I mean. We have locked ourselves in a jail cell based on our words.
Getaway. I need to get away. Why? Once again, is it that bad? For most it is. Why? Are all companies evil? Are all bosses idiots? Are coworkers really the devil in disguise?
Words are powerful attractors. Thoughts are powerful as well. You can read my latest hub on the law of attraction by clicking the blue word here!
Why can't we have 52 weeks of joy? The answer is we can! But only if you want to! So, how do we do it? With your words. Let's change our words, then our thoughts, and the right circumstances will evolve. Here are some phrases and words to avoid:
Can't
Getaway
Escape
Work
Have to
Need to
Should
Instead, look at these words and phrases:
I get to have fun at my job.
I am excellent, as always
I'm doing great.
I love money and money loves me.
Money comes to me easily for the value I provide.
I get to provide value for my customers

When someone asks you how you are going, tell them that statement. Watch their reaction. They will think you've lost it. Instead, you have found it! The key to happiness lies in the six inches between your ears. Only you can create your life. Right now, you are probably just reacting to the outside circumstances that you "think" control your life. In the famous Eagles song, Already Gone" they sing,
"so often times it happens, that we live our life in chains,
And we never even know we have they keys.
Everyone has the key. Are you ready to unlock your life?
Don't escape, instead get into life and make every day a great day.
