History

History plays an important part in all of our lives. We all of us have a past, present and future.

Our past shapes the present and the future of everything we do and also everything that has been done. It is this that we call History.

Many things have happened in History that have structured society for good and for bad. It is these events that have made the present what it is today. Most of us here at HP enjoy reading the many great Hubs that have been produced by the huge number of fantastic writers on this site.

We each have our own topics that we write about and that we also enjoy learning about. Ian and I both have a love and passion for History and in the past few months have written over 100 Hubs about LGBT People of History.

Now however we have taken a new approach and are going to bring you a series of quizzes on the subject of History that everyone can interact with and take part in.

The first one is on the 'Holocaust'. We are sure many of you already have a good knowledge of this subject, and there will be many of you who are on the road to discovery on this topic.

We hope you enjoy interacting and learning with us.

Callum and Ian.

This one was right in my wheelhouse, I did struggle with #3 but made the correct guess. Again, nicely done.

I think he means what we term here in Britain "Right up my street!" with 'Wheelhouse' well I hope so lol ;)

Callum :)

Well, I'm not certain where the expression originated but we use to use it when I played baseball. "Right in my wheelhouse" was used when the opposing pitcher put a pitch in the location that a particular batter felt was the location where said batter could knock the hell out of the ball. And I've just seen Callum's explanation and it sounds like he's got it exactly right.

I know what the expression means. What I'm interested in is what a wheelhouse is or was.....

Just being a pest!
