Don't Stop Believin'; Let's Make Some Honey!

"Don't You Quit"

"When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit."

Hope you are encouraged by the poem. I was. And even though I just brutally killed a bumblebee the other day, I just thought of a neat analogy concerning honeybees versus us. A honeybee doesn't live in fear of getting killed or let what happens around her to cause her to stop doing what she was created to do. She keeps on going. She keeps working hard... and not only just working hard... she works with OTHERS to get the job done. So many times I catch myself thinking that if I want something accomplished, I gotta do it all by myself, and I shut myself off from the world. Although there is a time for this, I must realize the need for others in my life and not let myself slip into "solo mode". It is easy to do, especially if you don't know who will be on board with similar goals/motives/passions in life. But no matter what, we must be open for working with others around us to accomplish GREAT things. The honeybee works regardless of what the other bees are doing around her. Honeybees know what they are made to do, and they do it. And if they stop before accomplishing what they were made to accomplish, we'd have no honey. There would be no fruits for their labor. So, this has me thinking, "Where is my fruit?" "What have I done lately that is preparing for a harvest or actually producing fruit that can be given to others?"

I think I have some good answers to my questions, but there is much more work to be done & I am excited that there will be others along my path that I can work together with to accomplish great things. We cannot forget how important it is to work together and not let things cause division between us and those we come in contact with in our lives, whether they be petty things or more serious things. After my mom passed away, I realized how short life can be and that it is never worth wasting time holding onto hurts/pains/unforgiveness/bitterness. Easier said than done sometimes, but I have made some huge messes in my life & I'd want others to forgive me, so I wanna be the first to forgive those who have hurt me. Let's come together and do what we were made to. Let's make some honey together :)
