Fake degree holders ought to be ashamed, not furious

“A degree is a degree! Whether fake or genuine, it’s degree!

All truth passes through three stages. First it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed. Third it is accepted as being self-evident.

This country has over 70% populations which are illetrate (almost 120 million out of 170 million). Then the ones who are literate are all not graduates don’t have figure but I would assume there are not more than 20million graduates in Pakistan or may be 30 million. So it is very safe to assume that close to 150 million people who are not eligible to be people’s representative. I would not call this democracy.

The task of verifying the parliamentarian’s degrees was handed to Higher Education Commission (HEC) headed by Javed Laghari. Non-cooperative attitude of some university have put the HEC left feeling the heat, thus creating doubts that the verification process of parliamentarians degree will not be completed in coming month. The Prime minister stated that government would not allow “corrupt parliamentarians “and fake degree holders to be successful in their agendas.

The National Assembly standing committee on education had instructed HEC to submit the final verification report regarding all degrees. The HEC sent all the degrees to various universities for verification. How ever from all the verified degrees received, HEC found only 200 of them had been verified according to proper criteria. Some of the degrees have sent back for the re-verification included Punjab University, The Balochistan University, Allama Iqbal Open University, Shah Abdul Latif University, The university of Engineering and Technology and university of Punjab. Peshawar, Taxil and Lahore. According to the sources it is mentioned in the report that some of the universities did not follow the guide lines established by the HEC for verification.

There is also an issue regarding parliamentarians who had till now not submitted their degrees to the HEC for verification, thus further delaying the process. So far 52 members of national and provincial assemblies have been found holding fake degrees, a report quoted HEC sources as saying “A degree is a degree! Whether fake or genuine, it’s degree! It makes no difference!” Balochistan chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisai, who claims a master in political science shouted at a gaggle of reporters.

The list of suspected fake-degree holders includes two senior cabinet ministers and others close to President Asif Ali Zardari. In one of the cases, a provincial lawmaker from former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League–N claimed to have obtained a master's degree in 2002, graduated college in 2006 and finished high school in 2007. He should be "disqualified for stupidity not fraud," Salmaan Taseer, the governor of Punjab. Another lawmaker claimed to have graduated high school at the age of 10, prompting local wits to dub him "Doogie Howser, MNA" (Member of the National Assembly). And still another claimed to hold three degrees, each with a different surname. Hahahaha.

A six -member larger bench headed by chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad chaudry while accepting an appeal filled by jamshed dasti's opposing candidate also ordered by-elections.Earlier, jamshed dasti had to tendered his resignation to the speaker national assembly after getting the third degree from the Supreme court. Justice kahlilur Rehman ramday had directed dasti to tell him the names of quranic paras and surahs and a flustered dasti told the wrong names of the first two Surahs of the Holy Quran. He also could not respond an appropriately to a query regarding the duration of his realigious education. Given a cutup call by no less a personality than justice Ramday himself, Dasti was offered the choice of resigning from national assembly or facing the judgment of the court.

PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has asked those legislators of his party who hold fake degrees to immediately quit their seats.” Fake degree holders will not be given party tickets in future and those who won elections by fraud should submit their resignations to save themselves from embarrassment, PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif said in a statement issued by the party's centrally secretariat.

"There will be no compromise on degrees, Mr sharif said. Declaring that the party's parliamentary board had been categorically told not to award

Tickets to such people. He believed that those who deceit won elections had no right to represent the people.

When court dismissed leaders containing fake degrees, our great politicians have given them AGAIN tickets and the people have elected them again, may be because of federal system or illiteracy of cast. No one is required to have a degree to contest elections. The the matter is that they have submitted fake degrees to election commission and betrayed the people which is a punishable crime. Also they have lied and broken the law for which they should be punished severely .How can we let such ill-literate liars and frauds to represent the whole nation? Does u think they can do any thing good for us? These liars can fulfill there commitments?

They don't deserve to be parliamentarians as well as representatives of common people.
