Human Skeletal System

Skeletal system is a primary system of the body of human beings, which is composed of bones, joints and cartilages. These parts mutually form a hard and stiff framework, generally known as skeleton. The bony skeleton of body is a quite distinctive structure. It is tough and hard, but at the same time it allows movements at distinct spots. Additionally, it indicates good amount of flexibility at selected areas including the spine.

The initial and also the essential component of skeletal system of human body is bone. Bones are of many different types for example long bones, short bones, irregular bones, flat bones and sesamoid bones. All of them have their own value in making of the skeletal frame. Bone on its own is a exceptional kind of connective tissue, which is certainly impregnated with inorganic salts mainly the salts of calcium. The last component of skeletal system is formed by joints. Joints are components in the skeletal system where a association is made between “two bones”, “a bone and cartilage”, or “a cartilage and cartilage”. An important action of joints in skeletal system is that they enable movements in the hard and firm framework. At joints, the bones can move in diverse directions thereby make unique variations of movements. These movements are vital for all varieties of body exercises. This indicates the value of joints in human skeletal frame.

Skeletal system executes several unique roles in body of a human. Essentially the most obvious of those are: protection of delicate organs, providing strength, support and shape, production of blood cells, and creating leverage for body movements. Each one of these capabilities are necessary for survival and a healthy lifestyle. The value of the functions conducted by the skeletal system can be perfectly recognized in diseases due to abnormalities of the components of skeletal system.
