I Am The Fruit

I Am The Fruit

I Am The Fruit

I am the fruit of a vibrant past.

The result of lessons ignored.

With past being prologue

I stand courageously on a foundation of strength

So that I might teach my fruit to

Realize their potential and reach for the stars.

I am the fruit of radiance in the face of darkness

The product of lessons learned.

Poised on tiptoes

I strain to hear the voices of old

Who remind me of the person I must be

And who placed the stars at my fingertips.

With horizons within my reach,

I pass my stars to my children.

Heaven is my home.
