Interview With A Home Schooler

Parents that decide other educational systems, to make educational justice such as "Home Schooling" are being "bombed" by educational systems, not because of the concern with children, but because it represents less money to go into the pockets of those that in one way take advantage of Public and/or Private schools.

Some citizens try to make homeschooling a negative and failure strategy. I wish I knew what they gain with such evil acts. Why would someone try to invade the private space of a family or intervene in their own decisions?

I am making a call to all who in one way or the other have felt that their success is being measured in an unjust way; to gain the courage for standing up with all the rights that the Law of Nature gives and present evidence of achievements.

I know many people that have gained courage to stand up with all the rights that the Law of Nature gives and are presenting evidence of achievements. I give them honor and respect which makes me take my hat off in front of them.

We know a family that decided to home school their son. The boy is now 13 years of age and he has gained more skills than a regular school student. His parents being his main resource of his educational process are helping him to discover his abilities, to perform them and to develop attitudes and ways of behavior enabling him to function as a member of the community. This family has gained more success than the goals of the public and traditional private schools.

The Constitution of Puerto Rico states in:

ARTICLE II BILL OF RIGHTS

Section 1. Dignity and equality of human beings; discrimination prohibited.

The human dignity is inviolable. All men are equal before the law No discrimination shall be based on race, color, sex, birth, origin or social condition or political or religious ideas. Both the laws and the system of public education shall embody these principles of essential human equality.

Section 5. Public Instruction.

Everyone has the right to an education to the full development of his personality and the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. There will be a public education system which is free and wholly non-sectarian. Education shall be free in elementary and secondary school and as far as the facilities of the state permit, shall be compulsory for primary school. Compulsory attendance at public elementary schools, will be as far as the facilities of the state permit, as provided herein, shall not be construed as applying to those who receive their primary education in schools established under governmental auspices. No public money or property used for the support of schools or educational institutions other than the State. Nothing contained in this provision shall prevent the State to provide any child non-educational services provided by law for protection or child welfare.

Home schools are totally legal

Home schools are ruled under private schools which makes them totally legal. In behalf of the choice of home schooling, the NO discrimination based on political ideas could be applied in this issue since the Department of Education is part of the government of Puerto Rico that changes the Secretary of Education upon the election of the Governor of Puerto Rico each four years.

I am making a call of STOP to all who in one way or the other speaks or acts against home schooling. I have served in the public and private schools in Puerto Rico with many wonderful experiences. I have also experienced the success of home schoolers.

My dear husband and I, amazed of the acknowledgments achieved of a 13 year old home schooler, decided to interview him on video sharing a little bit of his high quality successes. The interview is in English to let those who criticize know that he even dares what others don't attempt to do.

This 13 year old boy has parents that have archived evidence of his progress and talents. This reminds me of: Romans 13:7 "Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor ."

Home schools have to be the way of the future. I have a feeling we are going to need a new army of teachers who are trained in the new way of learning that evolution is leading us... a new direction in education: Utilizing self-teaching materials that are part of the educational environment to be used according to the student's interest and motivation. I know I sound nuts, but I could train those teachers to watch and follow the child and help him develop true enthusiasm. But especially, tap into the enthusiasm and love of life that the child naturally already has and avoid hampering it with our own tyranny of arbitrary expectations. When should the child live his life? N O W.

LABrashear and Kathryn L Hill, I just wish people could respect family choices when it comes to a non harming decision. Like you say Kathryn: "When should the child live his life? N O W."

I like the song Baby Universal by David Bowie. Check it. It is so perfect.

Kathryn L. Hill, thanks I checked it. These are the things that makes me sad "Hello humans nothing starts tomorrow

I'm the baby now".

I wrote a hub with the "socializing issue" : http://hubpages.com/education/Are-Children-Educate...

"Baby Universe...

Now that he has no sense of destination

Now he's running for the love of speed

When the child goes bad there's no cause for celebration

Like Jimmy Dean he don't talk back to me.

Failures as fathers

Mothers to Chaos

No baby, no baby, no Baby, no."

Frankly Mothers and fathers have such love for their children that I really don't think they are the problem. The problem is that we as a society refuse to create a child friendly environment in general. The new ADAM SANDLER movie is a perfect example of what I am talking about. He should be arrested for corrupting the youth. Who agrees with me. ALL ADULTS should. ALL.

I think every adult should go see that movie and do something about it.

But what? That is the question.

Freedom of speech should be for the sake of the GOOD.... not the BAD.

Bad work, ADAM SANDLER. Thanks for nothing.

Thank You, Lastheart, for letting me express myself here. I appreciate your many great points of view.
